SSR Selfie

I completed a task called 'SSR Selfie'. I read a chapter 'Island' from the Science Workbook.

An Island is an area of land that has water around it. An Island can be very small such as Somes Island in Wellington Harbour that has an area of less than thirty hectare.

Many of the islands in the world are found in the pacific ocean. There are more than  20,000 islands.

Early Polynesians  were  experts at sailing between  Islands in canoes. They did not have maps or radio to help them. 

I like this task because I got to learn a lot about different Islands.

Te Reo Māori

I completed a task called 'Te Reo Māori'.

First I made a slide to put the Te Reo Māori question .

Next I I wrote the questions and answers and translate them into english so people can understand the Maori language.

Last I clicked some pictures according to the Maori words and pasted them in the google slide.

I like this task because it was interesting to click different types of photographs.

SSR selfie

I completed a task called 'SSR Selfie'. I read a chapter 'Weather' from Science Workbook.

There are three facts about the weather mentioned below:

The atmosphere is a layer of air around the earth that keeps us alive. The sun heats the air around the earth. The North and the South pole don't get that much sunlight from the other planet so they are colder. The countries nearer the middle of the planet get the most heating.

New Zealand can be very hot in summer and very cold in winter. There are snow in winter in Central

Otago, high rainfall in Volcanic Plateau, frosty in west in West coast, strong wind in Canterbury.

The atmosphere carries water droplets that are very small. These water droplets get so big and heavy that they fall from the clouds as rain. There can be a lot of rain in storms and sometimes lightning a kind of electricity cloud.

I like this task because I learned a lot of facts about the weather.

Fairy tale

I completed a task called 'Fractured Fairy Tales'.

First I thought what story I should choose and I selected Red Ridding Hood .

Next I made a google drawing to make the story.

Lastly I wrote what happend in the story by using Orientation, Incident, Problem, Success - failure and Resolution.

I like this task becuase I like explain fairy tales and learned new words.

HPE

I completed a task called HPE. In this task I did 'Bring Sally Up and Bring Sally Down' challenge.

Firstly I selected what exercise I wanted to do and I selected push-ups.

Next I started the video and started to do push-ups. The video was 3 minutes and 34 seconds.

Then when it said - bring Sally down, I  came down on my elbow. When it said - bring Sally up Then my back a little up.

Finally I stopped the video and linked it to the blog post.

I need to practice doing push-ups  because I need to strengthen up my elbows.   

HPE Video

Dance Mat Typing

I completed a task called 'Dance Mat Typing'. First I revised three words that I learned last time. Next I learned new words, they were C,V,B for the left hand and N,M,, for the right hand. Then I revised the new words that I learned. Lastly, I wrote what I should have done better. I need to improve by not looking at the keyboard and not pressing the wrong keys.

Commenting

I completed a task called 'Commenting'. In this task we comment on each other's blog post about facts or questions.

I commented on Emmanuel SSR Selfie and asked a question and it was  "Have you ever experienced an earthquake and what rules did you use?". He explained about how an Earthquake happens and how to escape from an earthquake. 

In a comment thread you should always have a greetings, a compliment and a fact about the work.

Problem Solving

I completed a task called 'Problem Solving'. I did fraction in it.

First I made the pizza picture into the eqaul slices like half, quarters, one third.

Next I made the sqaure and cut it into equal slices same pizza picture. 

Finally I wrote down the explanation of why I do not have all the slices.

I like this task becuase I  learned how to do fraction question.

Basic facct boxes

I completed a task called Speed demon challenge

I completed it in 8 minute and 13 seconds.

I got 90/90.

I need to improve my timing and tables.

Te Roa Maori Questions

I completd a task called Te Roa Maori.

First I wrote the questions and answers and traslated them into english so people can understand the Maori language.

Next I recorded voice over of two of the slides saying the questiona and answer.

Last I clicked some pictures and  put them in the google slide.

I like this task becuase I learnt how to record voice and attach with a google slide.

Fractured Fairy Tales

I completed a task called 'Fairy Tales'.

Firstly I gathered information about Characters, Setting, Problem, Soluition, Events and made a table on a google slide.

Characters- I wrote about all the characters of the Fairy tale.

Setting- I wrote where the Fairy tales took place. Then I wrote the problem and solutions of the story.

Finally, I shared 3 fairy tales with the class during online meeting today. I explained about the Characters, Setting, Problems, Soluitions, and Events of the fairy tales to the class.

I like this task becuase I enjoy reading fairy tales.

Problem Solving: Fractions

I completed a task called Problem Solving for maths and learnt about fractions.

First, I had to match the correct fractions and then label it.

Then, I had to shade the fractions and colour them.

At the end, I made my own fractions and labelled and shade them.

I learnt that a shape can be divided into equal small pieces which are called fractions. 

I need to get better at finding out what fraction it is.

       

HPE

I completed a task called HPE. In this task I did 'Bring Sally Up and Bring Sally Down' challenge.

Firstly I chose what exercise I wanted to do and I selected Squat.

Next I started the video and started Squat. The video was 3 minutes and 35 seconds

Then when it said - bring Sally down, I bent down on my knees. When it said - bring Sally up I was a little straight .

Finally I stopped the video and linked it to the blog post.

I need to practice doing squats frequently because when I finished exercising my legs were hurting.

Commenting

I completed a task called 'Commenting'. In this task we commentt on each other's blog post about facts or questions related to the blog post.

I commented on Hector's SSR Selfie. His blog post was about 'how Maui went to the Sun and increased daytime'. I asked him a question about his work it was - 'I was wondering how did Maui travel to the sun?' 

In a comment thread you should always have a greetings, a compliment and a fact about the work. Below is an example in a comment thread.

SSR Selfie

I completed a task called SSR Selfie. I kept reading the book 'School Journal' and read "AWARUA The Taniwha of Porirua" which is a fictional Maori Tale.

The author and the Illustrator are Wiremu Grace and Lee Watt.

Awarua was a  taniwha who lived in Porirua Harbour many years ago. Awarua requested Rereroa to teach her how to fly. Awarua wings were too small Rereroa was her friend and reluctantly agreed to teach her. After some days Rereroa said that she was ready to fly.  Awarua  started flying but she smashed on Mana Island. She still practices flying but she is not as good as her friend.

I like this task because I got to learn about new words and Maori mythology.

I completed a task called Speed Demon Challenge.

I did division and I got 90/90.

I completed it in 9 Minutes and 37 seconds

I think I should try to reduce my time by revising tables.

SSR Selfie

I completed a task called 'SSR Selfie. I read one chapter named ''Fun at Marae Of a book called  'Nga Mahi parekareka kei te Marae '.

The children went to the Marae.They learnt Poi, Stick games ,Haka,String games, knuckle bones, spinning tops.They liked the activities.They taught them to their family.

I like this task because I learnt lots of new Maori words and activities.
