SLJ Kick Start: Magic Maths

Today, I practised testing out some maths magic questions.

First, I watched the instruction video so that I know what to do.

Second, I made a copy of the template on the site and tried solving the math questions.

Next, I read the instructions and everytime the answer was same as it was written.

Then, I asked my parents to test these questions and they were really suprised.

Lastly, I embeded my presentation on my blog post.

I thought that these question were not using magic but it was all about maths.

I learnt that when we combine magic and maths its really fun.

I liked doing this Summer Learning Journey task because I like maths and magic and these question is a combination of both.

  1. Awesome job Sahil!

Glad you enjoyed it! It is fun to try out these tricks as it doesn't always seem like it will work, and then it does! Have you tried learning any other magic from youtube?

    Keep up the awesome work!

Yes! Those tricks were really amazing.
Yes, I learnt more math magic tricks from the internet.
The magic trick was, think of a number, multiply it by 3, add 6, divide by 3, subtract the number that you chose, and your answer will be 2.
Do you know how these math magic trick works everytime?

      Thank you so much!
I am looking forward to your reply.

  2. Kia ora Sahil!

Chris here, from the Summer Learning Journey.

Pai mahi on doing the Magic Maths activity! Tēnā koe for explaining the steps you took in completing this task. As usual, you’ve done a great job going into detail about how you completed the task, and why you chose to do certain things, well done!

I definitely don’t like maths, so I agree with you about the importance of combining maths with the other things to make it more fun! That’s cool that you tested these out on your parents. Are they happy about you doing the Summer Learning Journey?

Looking forward to what else you post during the Summer Learning Journey!

    Ngā mihi,
    Chris

    2. Ata Mārie Sahil,

I can imagine they are indeed happy with your learning! And sadly, I don't know any maths magic tricks, haha. My favourite thing about maths is seeing people whom are passionate about maths excitedly talking about it- because I don't understand it past a basic level. That's why I chose to focus my study on words!

      Ngā mihi!
